Electing to bat first, De Kock and skipper AB de Villiers put on a 171-run stand for the fourth wicket to lead the South African fightback.
De Kock became the third victim of Ishant Sharma, when the latter clean bowled the southpaw in the 38th over to end the partnership. De Kock smacked two maximums and nine boundaries in his 120 balls knock.
De Kock raced to his century off 116 balls as he became only the fifth batsman to score three successive ODI centuries. He joined the exclusive club, comprising the likes of Pakistan's Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar and compatriots Herschelle Gibbs and AB de Villiers.
De Kock scored 135 and 106 in the first two one-dayers in the series against the world number one side.

South Africa started their innings on a wrong foot as they lost opener Hashim Amla (13) early in the fifth over.
Pacer Mohammed Shami gave India a crucial breakthrough, when he struck in his very first over to dismiss Amla and reduced the hosts to 22/1 in 4.3 overs.
South Africa have made three changes for the game as Henry Davids, Wayne Parnell and Imran Tahir are included in place of Jacques Kallis, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel.
For India, Yuvraj Singh replaced Ajinkya Rahane in the playing eleven.

Having conceded the series with humiliating back-to-back defeats, India aim to salvage some pride by winning the third one-dayer, in order to gain confidence ahead of the two-Test series.
It will be redemption time for Dhoni's men at the Super Sport Park after two embarrassing losses in the first two matches which also exposed the famed batting line-up's inability to cope with pace and bounce of the South African tracks.
India suffered a 141-run rout in the first ODI at Wanderers and then another 136-run defeat in the second ODI at Kingsmead.
